After finishing elementary school in Pogradec, he was sent at age of 9 to continue his studies in the Lyceum of Monastery (Bitola). With the begining of [[World War I]] he returned to Pogradec and his father sent him to [[Athens]], where he studied at the French lycee. At the end of 1921 he went to [[Bucharest]] ([[Romania]]], to continue his studies. Being without a scholarship and without help, he was forced to work and study at the same time. In Bucharest he was connected with patriotic movement of the [[Albanian disapora]] society and was elected as secretary general of the society. In the summer of 1924 Fan Noli’s government gave him a scholarship and he was enrolled at the [[University of Graz]] (Austria) where he finished his higher studies in the Faculty of Romano-German Philology and wins the titles of Doctor and Professor. In contrast to the [[Renaissance]] poets, who, despite their originality had features in common, prominent poets of the period of independence such as Noli, Fishta, Poradeci and Migjeni are completely different from each other as to their upbringing, formation, their inclination, as well as their artistic interests.
